Spring cleaning

Henry suggested I take a photo of one of my inbox's. Here's evidence I never throw anything away. It's so far out of control the spring clean would be more like a house move..

Errors occurred last night. At one point in the evening I found myself flying pretty fast down the road on a borrowed fixed gear bike. Everything was going swimmingly until the thing bucked like a donkey when I locked my legs up and spat me up and off it into the pavement. Suffice to say I'm aching right now. A dangerous game to be playing. I was most surprised to see Hops rock up on a fixed gear..

Looks like some games of skate are going to fill that alley soon. Shaun Witherup is injured pretty badly right now. It looks like his game won't be going down. We're petitioning for Luigi to take that space. Any comments on what you think about this are most welcome. Here's a direct quote from the man himself-"I'll just do five tricks that nobody else can do......hmm what could those be?" See he has a game plan and everything. Give the guy a break..

Steady repping Slam with that heelflip catch.

One week and counting

“Wine is bottled poetry.”

Robert Louis Stevenson said that. I have another relevant wine label fresh in from another cinematographer. This came from Chris Massey..

Two steps up from Peckham spring. Some freshly re-badged bottles of booze lubricated last night's proceedings..

I wasn't here for the Cliche premiere but I'm sure the increasing volume of Brophy footage circulating will leave no doubt in people's minds that he is the most naturally gifted skateboarder on Earth. Him and Karl Watson. The turn out was good and the beer arrived courtesy of Mathieu and Matt via the Brophy DVS affiliation..

Rory and Billy were in attendance..

Edson was fresh back from the North and blinded by the city lights..

Toddy figured it would be rude not to go out..

This photo of Jackson reminds me of the old one he had playing French's trumpet for some reason..

Niall and Dave brought South London to meet Matt Anderson..

Finally the litmus test of a good event, one of them. Mr Dan Henshaw who is also feeling the new Springsteen album..

From what I heard the video went down really well. We have new wood for you this weekend. Some from Girl and Chocolate..

This Girl series is my favourite..

By the time you read this we'll have new DLX boards for you too. All the new Anti-Hero boards are on route. My dad brought my attention to a leaflet distributed by the NHS yesterday. The leaflet was dealing with people who have depression. Check the typo on the last bullet point-apologies for the camera phone. Whoever proof read this probably won't be proof reading again..

Finally Robbo caught some live footage of fellow blogger Hops in action..

"I like to sneak in under the radar..

.. I don`t have any paparazzi following me or have to deal with that stuff. I`m never in the tabloids. I prefer that" - Rob Schneider

Schneider's a lucky man. The hit rates have gone through the roof since the games of skate have gone live and it means I have to deal with this every morning..

Jus' kidding. I liked the idea of pap snapping the paparazzi though. I don't know who they were waiting for. One of them was standing on a car at one point. Fresh through the door is a box from the Slugger fam. New colours of the Deathwish boards for you..

There's been a Ravenous re-lick too. Pick up a copy if you haven't already. We had two good visits from this guy over the weekend..

Legendary. The new Springsteen album has had one play out. I'm backing it. After a long days skate yesterday we aimed for a public house. Just prior to entering the first one we found Hops had a little tangle with the feds. I won't elaborate right now but I can tell you he was completely innocent and what went on was ridiculous. As promised the adventures of little green Hops continue...

Another blog to add to your list was brought to my attention this morning. Work from the hands of this guy..

Here's a video part for you containing one of the best nollie backside flips ever..

Maybe you noticed some of the paintings edited amongst Vaughan's part. You can see more of his recent work on his new blog. Click below..

A jedi mind trick has resulted in me doing a gym induction later on this evening. See you on the treadmill

Tomorrow

You need to visit your local record store and pick up one of these..

End of transmission.

M.I.A

I've spoken of late a little about people who we miss in here. Brophy and Snowy are out in the field, Smorgan is back in Melbourne-you can see what he's up to by clicking Choc Jammy in the extended family column to your right. Fellow Australian Andrew Brophy can be seen by picking up your Mapquest dvd in here where he absolutely kills it! He also won the highest ollie challenge with ease..

This post is angling around another man with an Australian passport we miss because I found him in one of the best photographs ever taken. This photo is incredible on many different levels..

Get back here Ben. Be sure to visit Sam's blog to see his latest Robbo update..

Graham just did a T-Rex impression which was pretty incredible. Enjoy the end of your weekend

"Tim Wayward"

That's what my friend Steve shouts when a darts error occurs. All round Don, original wayward and Palace founder has a new project we're proud to make available to you. Here's a photo of Edson and Floyd I borrowed from Phraeza..

The project is a zine called Persian rugs..

Get involved, there's 100 made! They're only two pounds and contain Palace themed articles, stories from Stuart and Wolfboy, questions with Joey. Rob got Edson to number his 1/100. This seemed like a good idea. I got him to number mine 1/100 too. We sold a lot of Heroin boards today. This guys board is his last pro model..

His board explains it being his last on the top and has a positive message for y'all..

Yes Pizzer! Another zine made by a friend contains more of Chris's words of wisdom, they open the latest installment in fact. This zine is not a tangible one like Persian rugs but you can turn the pages with a click of your mouse. Check the new Tweaker here..

This Saturday feels like an old one, busy busy better go. Speak to you tomorrow

"Where no wood is, the fire goes out;...

so where there is no tale bearer, the strife ceaseth.”
That's a quote straight out of the Bible. The fire is on in here and the tale I'm bearing is that the board wall is fully stocked for you this weekend. Here's the UK wall..

The American board wall looks good too. Check out that Alien row at the bottom..

All this stock is live online so get involved. If you make it into the store you'll be able to pick up one of these free dvd's if any are left..

It's got top boy Andrew Brophy on it. Looking into my crystal ball I can pretty much predict that as of tomorrow he will be holder of the World's highest Ollie record. London misses you Brophy. Another man missed from London's scenery is this guy..

Snowy has some hammers that didn't make it into his Horizons part brought to you live by the Gza. Visit the Landscape site below..

http://www.landscapeskateboards.com/home.html

It's like an extra part, click on what looks like a Quicktime clip and it will load the podcast straight into your itunes. Snowy is wandering around the streets of Panama right now hopefully in a man fron Del Monte outfit blissfully unaware this video is being podcast into your machine. If you get a chance to listen to this guy you should..

He's Steve Earle's son. I'm going to see him play a show tonight with my dad. Toddy has the cover of this months Kingpin..

He loves jumping into awkward little banks, it's hard to stop him. If all goes to plan I'll have some more Toddy exposure for you next week before he sets sail for the States again. There's a charity shop on the way to my train station, when time is on my side I pay it a visit before the train. I picked this up this morning for 10p!..

I have a copy but whenever I see anything good in there I liberate it. This copy found a good home with Robbo who's game of skate against Shier on the world stage is live. Check it here..

http://www.slamcity.com/skate.html

Rob has been obsessing about the little green Hops. I was away for a day and came back to a grip of clips he's filmed with him which I'll be bringing you periodically. This was the first one he made with a genius smooth rotating dolly action. It's the Hops morph..

The weekend is nearly with us. I'll be seeing you in here

Journey through time

Come voyage with me. Henry Kingsford gave me the heads up on one of the best blogs ever. It's called the Chromeballincident. On it lives a massive array of pictures from years gone by. Amazing old photos of everyone any good. All the Menace ads, Stranger, Carrol, Oyola, Keenan, Pupecks. All round killer no filler, get yourself looking, there's something for everyone. If the smattering of pictures below I lifted from there don't have you clicking the link below them and wasting the best part of the day I don't know what will..

Get lost in the past..

http://chromeballincident.blogspot.com

I threw that rat signal out there last night to get some skating in today. I went to sleep and it was raining. I woke up and it was raining. I then got a re-vamped rat signal in my inbox. I threw it out into the night sky and guess what?..

See you at the skate park

Tuesday 20 January 2009

"I had lunch with a chess champion the other day..

.. I knew he was a chess champion because it took him 20 minutes to pass the salt"-Eric Sykes.
Twenty minutes is a minor interruption compare to the absolutely crippling indecision I experience for at least an hour come lunchtime. My head right now is weighing up those options. The wolf was kept from the door the other day by a ghetto snack entry from an unknown benefactor..

Keep those coming in by the way. That nutty snack tided over a similar period of indecision, maybe your entry could do the same. One topic of conversation enjoyed with increasing regularity this past few weeks has been the games of skate going on in the alley outside. This week will be a good watch. The first game will go up on Wednesday. Who will take it?..

Or..

Everyone's been training it up it seems. Bad weather meant training was sought yesterday via a sporting outlet here..

It was the best fun ever and I can't wait to go again. This week will also see the other game that was played out live on the site. Who will win out of this guy?..

and this guy?..

See Shier's not shy of a bit of sports action either. I lifted that photograph straight from this guy..

and received this day old photo from Henry Kingsford earlier today. To see what pictured cyclist has been up to look on your right where the extended family list lives and click on Ches. He's been running things. Always keen to improve the efficiency of our retail operation we came in early and studied this retail training video. I'll show you this much but I don't want to leak out any other secrets..
