Just came back from another wear test...
One thing I took great pleasure in was waiting by the window in the airport...
and seeing my bag loaded onto the plane. No mounting the iron bird from the floor this time but seeing that happen was enough behind the scenes for me. The Brucey bonus was said bag being first off the rotating baggage rack the other side. I met Sam Barrat and Dan Magee and we made our way to the hotel where Colin Kennedy and Mackey were also staying...
This alternative residence was just down the road...
Our itinerary looked like this...
The lunch took place in the ornate Winter room...
Dan or Mr Magoo according to the concierge got his new industry standard kit out...
He was like a Fringe character capturing pieces of the present for the future. Next up we had a presentation about the shoe we were to try out...
Shaun the designer of the Zoom FP (future primitive) took us through the evolution of the more technical SB's to the present. The E-cue which was Nike's original experiment with durability vs comfort compared to what we saw the other day was like seeing Roseanne Barr next to Natalie Portman. It's crazy to think of how bulky some of the shoes we wore were. The Zoom FP takes elements of the Presto running shoe, a personal favourite of mine and the thought behind the shoe was to completely minimise the amount of individual pieces used. Interlocking pieces, if my memory serves me correctly-three in all make up the shoes upper. Inspired by the construction of a roman sandal the end result is the most foot hugging and snug skate shoe I've ever put on. One of my favourite skate shoes for that very reason was the es Koston 2. Here's a better look at the shoes...
When the presentation was over we were whisked away to the amazing Amsterdam skatepark. My photograph taking was impeded by skating most of the time until the lure of the bar was too much for me. Here's one of my country folk...
Magee and Mackey-the real thing. Here's my attempt at skate photography...
The green ghost in the front of the photo is the memory of Ishod Wair's massive frontside ollie over the channel. Magee's edit will do this more justice. Get used to Ishod Wair's name, he smashes it, here's a hint at his skills...
When I first grabbed the shoe box I thought it was a dud. Ridiculously light! With the future wrapped around our pieds we made sure we all kickflipped the Wembley gap. Koston was skating at the park too, here's his ad for the project...
These ads were shot by someone from London. Once the skate was over we had an amazing meal and went to a massive party. Thanks to Nike for their hospitality once again, good times. Our hotel was filled with good advice, here's what I took on board waiting for the lift out of there...

CHAOS
Build it and they will come and come they did...
Hundreds of them, the queue went round the corner to Neal street! The signing was mental and the kids were very stoked...
Lizard King smashed it with the kids. Penny even left a doodle on Shier's DVS package...
It's been a long day by all accounts. Have a good evening

"At the age of six...
...I wanted to be a cook. At seven I wanted to be Napoleon. And my ambition has been growing steadily ever since" -Salvador Dali
I was always taught to formulate my own opinions and tastes but I was definitely encouraged to revere Dali as a genius. My father's favourite, the legend of the lobster telephone even made it's way into a fancy dress outfit of his and was on the to see list every Tate visit. I'm not really sure what got me onto thinking about him, perhaps James Jarvis' mention of liking intermittent cultural references and recommendations which appear on here. This painting...
a print of it anyway was on the wall throughout my childhood. It's incredible, I whiled away hours staring at it, there's a lot to look at, give it some time.

You can check it out on our
site Really nice stuff as always. We hope you've left a gap in your diary this Thursday as we have this going on in here...
Hjalte Halberg is a phenomenon. Here's an edit which went up a week ago I forgot to link. Just a day in his life on the streets of Denmark...
Gregory Isaacs sadly passed yesterday...
Pour out a little something and give the cool ruler a play out.

Petty
Sometimes I hear a Tom Petty song and I can almost smell my mum's cooking. He's a real childhood constant. Recently I've been re-visiting Bonnie Prince Billy and Palace brothers albums. In between I whacked this on. It's a Tom Petty album which may have slipped through the net I cannot recommend enough...

Cats and Dogs
I just returned from the Post Office errand. It's going to take a little while to adjust to our rainy season. Thankfully it's true beginning coincided with a Helly Hansen delivery. My recent return to the Motherland...
was very much enjoyed, a little skateboarding and a lot of rest. So, what do we have for you that's new and desirable? We have a tar Classic high and a tan Salazar...
Alongside the ever popular black/white colourway in the Blazer, The Dunk Mid and the Bruin...
Call us or visit the site if any of these are of interest. We just bid farewell to Danny "The Kid" Brady...
He is set to arrive as others return in the LDN to NYC switch over.

Get Well Soon
Bad news from the field. Rob hurt himself in NYC where he was shredding on the recent Palace takeover. His swollen knee on further inspection is due to his knee cap being broken in half. Unfortunately this is a window into his world...
Oof! Full leg cast. You'll be back in no time Wob. This might cheer you up. It's Grace's favourite youtube video...
Once the lightning and thunder clap have worked their magic stop watching.

"I'll have a pint of Heinenberg"
Luigi is a quote machine. Right now I am fully ensconced in the third season of this...
You need to watch it, best thing out. However I say this with the Boardwalk Empire just waiting for me. Down to business. Those of you in the market for a new shred sled this Weekend are in luck. New boards from these guys...
Anyone who is counting on the cold weather forcing them indoors in the near future that likes a smoke is in luck too. This is finally in...
The Burnside replica, finger fake a transfer and ash on re-entry. It even has a secret compartment for your devil's lettuce...
An enjoyable Weekend to one and all

An old rat is a brave rat
Nice Autumn gift from Hold Tight Henry...
I know it's on the Slam front page but i'm showing my support right here too. I think this is pretty much going to be the vibe in this are code later today...
"We want to hurt no one. We're here for the bank's money, not your money. Your money is insured by the federal government, you're not gonna lose a dime. Think of your families, don't risk your life. Don't try and be a hero"
This quote is taken from the far superior movie these two heavyweights starred in and not the poster their names adorn here.

Crazy Chicken
If that's jogged some happy memories you're going to like this post. Crazy chicken was the spot, £1 chicken burgers-banging! If you're reading this, you skate and you frequented there you're no stranger to slip slides, billy marble, the big four, the three and the joop after joop that littered Fairfield halls. This is for you. Tom Thornton's edit just saw the light of day. Dan Callow, Worthless, Charlie Young, Little Joe, Shier, Big Marls all captured in what was then their natural habitat as well as London missions and a St Alban's contest. You'll spot Boulton, Ben Dominguez, Rattray, Baines, Scott Palmer and Rodney Clarke in that bit. Enjoy a trip down memory lane...
I went a little overboard in Elephant and Castle market the other day. I need this many chillies...
If you are a fan of ...
You're in luck. We've had a decent shipment...
It contains four tees, the fatal shirt, the savage NY Coach's jacket, the well protected cape coat and the hidden 5 panel. This stuff will be on our online store soon but if you're chomping at the bit before then pay us a visit.

10/10/10
Ten ten ten and all is well. I followed a Nugget film review and was thankful I did. It was one which had slipped under the radar. As soon as I found out it was associated with this production company...
I asked no more questions. Take this down if you get a chance leaving your brain at the door...
Twice throughout I spotted Kool Keith tracks being played during weed smoking scenes, both off the Dr Doom album. I was stoked when the credits began to roll and the man himself had made a track specifically for the film. Not sure about watching it? It's got a monkey in it!

Lords of the Underground
I've become increasingly interested in old adverts promoting the tube. This search has led me here and there and I now have a keen eye for exactly the kind of images that please me. Once I've found them I intend to bring some home because they look amazing. Voicing my new found interest prompted the Wilson to alert me to an exhibition I'd never have seen near by. It's on the Shaftesbury Avenue end of Endell Street...
Max Roberts posing the question could the tube map be changed? Has offered responses like this...
There are more than a handful of rejuvenated maps. My favourite was this one inspired by the the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh...
Look how good the hood looks...
I'm still happy with the original but my fascination with tube history continues, a Transport Museum trip beckons I think. If you do find yourself South of the river in a cafe called Terry's-one of the best by all accounts-I have some advice. There is no Larry David on the Menu but there is one named after the proprietor's son...
Austin's special is the best sandwich out. I should probably tell you about a well guarded secret in the frozzen foods aisle too...
Don't sleep on it, these ice cream releases are gone before you get used to them. Where can I even get a Toffee Crumble nowadays? Answers on a postcard please. Well I better be off. It's Saturday, they're unpredictable. In fact the only constant in my Weekends...
Graham I'll see you shortly.
