Week in pictures

There's been a lot on recently and I've had a brief absence from the World Wide Web. Here are some things of note that have happened. Thanks to Louise Page over at
Village Press
we got to enjoy seeing Justin Townes Earle at a Nudie Jeans party. My press style photography will set the scene for you...

This will give you a better idea of who he is, I know i've mentioned him before, here he is playing the songs of the great man he was named after...

Investigate. After this we joined up with
The Nolan
who was celebrating a new film project. His tax when getting the drinks in was to reward the drinker with what was deemed the campest choice on the menu. Toddy is pictured here enjoying the delicious Raspberry daquiri...

Here's Paddy in his Chips get-up...

a Gabriel Pluckrose fan we met...

and here's what I've been working on today and will be tomorrow...

See you next Week

Thrashing

Amongst our hardware re-up from Shiner were some gems. If you were in the market for Indy 139's and we told you to check back when our cupboard was depleted now is the time, we are swimming in trucks. This new Thrasher dvd came in...

You can buy this in store for £4.95. Thrasher dvd's have a habit of delivering in my opinion-Beer Helmet! Vidiot! Case in point. Thrasher celebrate 30 years as a printed publication this month...

You should come and grab yourself a copy, my highlights were an old Cardiel photo from the SF avenues and a shocking sequence of Marquis Henry. Also worth mentioning was the
Skate Mental
twist on this classic...

After a small absence we're pleased to have the Powell vids back in store on dvd and you can buy them
here
See you when you come and pick up Thrasher, you get a free sticker and everything.

"Best thing on the internet"

Always with the sick edits, even better when they're from the vaults...

Probably more enjoyable when Luigi's cough isn't reverberating around your skull while coining new phrases like "kicking a dead pig" Check
it!

Can It Be That It Was All So Simple Then

Raekwon taking us on a lyrical high, reference being the good old days and our last 365 in pictures. Jackson's slide show is always a treat and in case it got glanced over on the news here it is in it's own little post...

We do need to take more pictures. See you in Southsea

Print This

Took a few days off to see family and friends and skate during the day time. Family and friends have been seen but one out of the three days skating isn't good enough, curse our blustery skies! Maybe i'll get one in tomorrow, Jensen, Smithy, myself and Charlie are going to this...

It's an exhibition of the entries to the
Blueprint
photography exhibition in conjunction with
Bored
and
Carhartt
Hopefully we can skate something dry beforehand. If not I think I'm gonna cry...

Shine A Light

My mum has this, watched it yesterday...

One concert filmed by Scorcese much the same as the Last Waltz with intermittent snippets of archived footage. Some very funny stuff from this guy...

You should watch it...

I believe I can fly

Stella came in with Brady yesterday. She auditioned to be sale poster girl...

and got the job...

Make sure you check out the sale
here
Stella was a little cold so a
Worthless
shirt was fashioned into a new about town jacket for her...

Brady even cut a hole for her tail so it fit her properly...

Stella visits brighten the darkest of days. My friend
Dan
made me aware of this guy's aerial adventures. Hang time...

Luigi's friend Mark is a legend, an absolute legend, anyone who pulls these kind of stunts for their own personal amusement and then frames the results deserves a knighthood...

Have a good Weekend out there. We are surrounded by sale fever.

Wayward Gallery

Tonight at the Wayward Gallery,47 Mowlem st,E2 9he,London from 6-10 is the first exhibition there of the year. Our friend Liam who used to work in Rough Trade in the good old days has an exhibition of his work...

He now wields a tattoo gun instead of the latest releases so the work will contain his flash I imagine. Looking forward to it, see you there

If I Were a betting man...

..I'd imitate this screen grab...

and accumulate funds. License to print money as Jackson would say. I'll be checking the scores whilst taking down this, having watched Casino Royale last night...

Everyone likes an explosion

This Friday

It's going to be a bit like the day Pizzer and I replaced the board wall with old school boards and dressed up then put public domain on the video player while Seth was on lunch, like that but better...

Getting By

We have a good new independent video in for you to check out. Come and grab one they are only £5. Ross Lidgey dropped them in just the other day. Here's the trailer...

Trust the new year has begun well. Whilst getting stuck into Mad Men a little further, I was made aware in a flashback of the hobo code. Symbols were chalked or carved into posts or fences by travellers as a warning to others and as a way of communication between like minds. Here are examples...

Interesting stuff

2011

Things have been quiet at Jake's Alley HQ on the blogging front of late. Life has been happening and for one reason or another i've been away from the main frame. Expect more in the future. I had a great time last night and hope you did too. Best wishes for the next one...
