Series ingestion

Long gone are the days of keeping tabs on what was going on behind the facades of Ramsey street or in a Summer Bay beach house on a jobless noon rise. Gone because of circumstance and gone because television went and changed, different shows got us hooked back then, mostly sit-coms I feel and even semi serious shows were injected with humour. There were your Cheers and Roseanne style shows, easy to follow, missing one wouldn't leave you in a tailspin of confusion and they filled most tv sets come 6 or 7. Other shows demanded they be more keenly followed, I would say Northern Exposure is a good example of this crossover and we all tuned into Quantum leap. Please message me more examples of game changers, it is interesting. British staples as examples when serious drama was to be addressed would be Casualty and the Bill. Correct me if i'm wrong here but I feel it all started to change around the X files, the advent of the box set. Shows put together with an end further than a season or two in sight changed the way we watched television. Which leads us to now when there are series' left, right and centre, sometimes three seasons deep already before you've even dipped a toe. We are all chasing the next Soprano's, the next The WIre. Well tonight I have a little time set aside and a toe free to dip. Following a Mark Jackson tip off and because of the impact these three things had on me as a youth...

I'm going to give this a chance...

Abrams has two episodes waiting for me, any hint of funny business...

and I'll watch it religiously to the end and then realise it was all just a dream.

Phone home

Monday was the last post? Today is Thursday! What is happening? Well the Police want to take me to court, this is a long story I'll be able to tell one day when I've calmed down and hopefully have a happier tale to tell, this has held up blog proceedings. One main time consumer these last few days has been being lost in the glorious world of one of these things...

It's incredible, I can't believe I survived without it etc. Like anything in my every day life getting the thing hooked up/number changed over/internet to work was no walk in the park but I think each crease has been ironed out and the fun has begun. Instagram is a winner. Things that have been good lately, new guilty sit-com pleasure is this...

Apologies, it's saccharine sweet entertainment, brain at the door style. I've admitted to it, wincing a couple of times and have been met with "Oh I watch that too" on more than one occasion so I think it's okay. This is a great treat, thank you
Don't Watch That TV

Kalis on curbs stoked me out...

Skating to and from work lately has been fun. Paddy's back from Tokyo and straight on the Salad Bar's woodwork...

Daisuke is currently in Berlin and I'm going to bed.

Poisonous

I was excited to come home after a Sunday night shred with Hegsy and watch this vid which made it's way to us from NY...

It's an entertaining watch and will make you want to skate, lots of New York exposure. Josh Stewart filmed for it, think we will make it our mission to buy some in and then you can pick one up, I reccomend it. Have a look at a teaser trailer...

Will let you know as I do

'Give Me That Neck'

I have a friend called Michael J Fox, he's not the same guy in the last episode of the newest Curb Your Enthusiasm season. He probably does bang about his apartment in work boots though...

He's been a busy lad, look he has a
blog
now and everything. Have a look around and be sure to watch the slideshow

She is bright tonight...

She was and she shone on us...

The full moon lit an unexpectedly warm skate South of the river this evening and nobody lost it. Usually full moon's happen and nights transpire all over the place with a more haywire bent than usual. One time I recall four or five of us blearily recalling the events of the night before, each night's story independent of anyone elses, so four or five in total and each tale as out of keeping as the last. This was in Present, everyone trying to make sense of the night before as much as anything. Everyone was putting the puzzle pieces together, I remember Ash gleefully putting his finger in the air and exclaiming "full moon!" He was right too, this was a tame one just gone. I made sure my new diary has a lunar calendar in it so i'll keep you warned in future.

Look no further

When I thought the comedy void left by devouring the last season of Curb as it happened (and re-watching far too soon afterwards) would never be filled, I was proven wrong. Karl's tip off today has put me right back on track...

You need this in your life
