Treetop Flyers

Saw them again last night supporting Vetiver, notice that this is not a Vetiver post. Not that Vetiver aren't a good band just that Laurie and the gang really shone last night. This one is a great one...

Imagine that but three times as big and that's what we saw last night. They are off to support the Eagles this Weekend, when the chance arises go to see them, it's definitely worth it.

Facelift

You'll notice a Jake's Alley facelift has taken place. Having moaned about me holding a bat for the longest time it's finally happened.
Luigi
was given the brief which was this-it has to say Jake's Alley and it has to have a dog in it-he did a good job, I reckon it would look good on a white shirt? New Jackson edit of after work skate missions is up, stoked on this one...

Shredative

Managed to skate the last two nights, i'm so happy it's still a real head cleaner. Best thing out, I guess that's why we're still excited about it. As promised here are some Rod Stewart images. Stevie Nicks and Ronnie Wood both joined him on stage and I imagine everyone in the park un-convinced to begin with, that day left with a new found respect for him and an open ear. I hope this statement even applies to the gaggles of disgruntled looking offspring I passed on my way to meet the others. Nat kindly got us in, here she is with Toddy and the man himself (almost)...

This guy had the moves down, I suppose you'd have to. We saw Stevie Nicks first, she was incredible, pure power. In her honour Nat brought a headband for each one of us, here is Hops' gold one...

I had a kind of zebra piece, i'll show you that when I get the other photos. Hyde Park is set up well, you can always see what's going on...

The sound is amazing too, the guitar noise during Stevie Nicks' show was truly epic. Rod gave it the whole show, I enjoyed watching his hand gestures to the technicians make the sound a third louder during the first track. Not as much as watching Toddy get into the spirit of Do Ya think i'm sexy before Rod even took the stage, look at how much Hops enjoyed it...

What a great Sunday, the last great Sunday was at the Wu, here's to more great Sunday's. This is on tomorrow night...

Enjoy your mid-week and this thoroughly unfunny youtube clip...

Lest I Forget

Images are captured and often forgotten, destined to live on my mobile communication device/Alley cam. Spring cleaning my handset over the next few weeks will give some old and new images life in the ether. Here's Lev's new Mortal Kombat steez...

He showed us the new
Palace
stuff ready to drop soon, keep your eyes peeled. Here is my home away from home in the homestead, this is where I put the world to rights with old friends and family, meet the Fred...

Here's a makeshift pizza I assembled on a Garlic Naan base involving Nando's sauce...

While I was away in LA one of the highlights was hanging out with my friend Christopher King Lippi...

One of the best! As promised here are a few images from MOCA. Look at this wall of paint!!...

Looking through all the old labels was a treat. Here are a couple of Basquiat images, I figure i'll do a bit of this every now and again and not overload you...

Noice! Finally this SB just dropped...

It's in-store only and was designed by Nike SB UK chief of operations Sam Barratt. Pay us a visit. We have some night time plans for you, some immediate and some a little further way, I'll tell you about them tomorrow.

Big Man

Heard some very sad news just now. Clarence Clemons has just passed away aged 69. Play Born To Run today in his honour, his saxophone really was the heartbeat of the E street band, very sad...

Increasingly plagued by health complications over the last few years yet positive to the end he said this of his suffering "God will give you no more than you can handle. This is all a test to see if you are really ready for the good things that are going to come in your life. All this pain is going to come back and make me stronger," Honour the man today and play it loud...

Old Curiosity Shop

Sometimes a tidy in here becomes more of an archaeological dig. Some gems were uncovered today I thought i'd celebrate. Was actually looking for this the other day...

It contains only one incident...

Equipment/machinery involved is a stroke of genius. Other pieces of our illustrious history I exposed are this sign...

This was added to and added to as time went on, it was taken down before the truly offensive made it's way on there, have a closer look...

Still asked more than once a day. I made my stage debut over the last two nights at this...

We were wheeling large pieces of set around in the pitch black. I haven't been that nervous since a school play, such a good feeling afterwards though, it was a whole lot of fun. Back in the retail hub now I'm pleased to report that issue 5 of Grey...

Is in stock and available for perusal at your leisure. Come in and pick up a copy, we have...

Finally this is something that is no way amusing...

See you over the weekend

Clan In Da Front

We took it last night. Myself, Wob, Hops, Dan Henshaw, Massey, Snowy and Laura and special invited guest who came in through the back door-Toddy. It was his first Wu/hip hop show ever and he's an ever changed man. Before the show we had a Wagamama's and Rob who had joked earlier about fashioning his food into a W was given a Kats-Wu curry requiring no alteration...

As always there were a few omissions...

Method Man held it down though, we were at the front bringing the ruckus from start till finish. Crowd participation as always was through the roof, Method man was in the crowd a few times, a good time was had by all, My only shot...

and here's the crew photo...

Aftermath and Rebirth

Things are settling down after yesterday's Supra team signing. An ever filled alley full of kids dissipated a few hours later content and covered in signatures. These guys are seasoned professionals when it comes to this stuff especially Lizard King who was running the show upstairs. This guy was on good fettle...

Tonight Rob and I are paying our respect and throwing our W's up catching the last London date on this tour...

See you at the front

Yes Karim!

Re-Location

Today's Supra demo has taken into account our recent less than reliable weather conditions. Instead of being in glorious South London, today's demo will be West...

Bay 66 will be the venue on Acklam road. Skateboarding will commence at 5

The Pool

Thanks to everyone who made it out to Dagenham the other night, a good time was had by all. On the way there a sequence of this guy's antics first greeted our eyeballs. Here is the glorious cctv footage...

<a href="http://video.uk.msn.com/?mkt=en-gb&from={from}&vid=9f874c6a-78e2-4d0d-a8cd-5acec21a887d&from=dest_en-gb&fg=dest" target="_new" title="Drunk Man vs. Stairs">Video: Drunk Man vs. Stairs</a>

This was my view on the night...

The view to my left...

Snowy 360 flipping for the mighty WOnk Unit...

It was sick seeing people skate the bank and the rest of the park with Wonk Unit blazing away in the corner. Beer and Pizza fed and watered the 5000 and I had a whale of a time playing music before and after the band. On the way home I noticed changes made to an almost spot we enjoyed late one night...

Thanks for the good times.

Not Funny

First things First

Exciting times are ahead regarding the institution i'm typing this post from. I'll tell you more about that when I can, sorry to be cryptic but it keeps things interesting. Enjoy this picture of the early days at 16 Neals yard kindly sent to me by Will Bankhead...

Hopefully I will see you here this evening...

Hops and I will be soundtracking proceedings from the deep end. Have a gander at the madness Mark Ward has been helping to create...

Have you got any snapbacks?

This Wednesday

RSVP and come to Dagenham for a night of music, beer, pizza and skateboarding at a spot that will only be with us for a limited time...

Words Of Wisdom

Sometimes a good quote can really stay with you if you let it. Thought of this one yesterday I was sent in a mail from my friend Travis and when I recall it at times it makes me stoked, sorry to get deep on a Monday morning and I'm sure you've probably even heard it before but if you haven't then enjoy it. This is pretty much transcribed from the end of the email

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive. Then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive"

Sounds like skateboarding to me

Not long

The Lunch Game

I took my usual mid-day indecision by surprise yesterday and grappled the lunch game into a stranglehold by taking down one of these...

The Katsu curry never dissapoints, praise be to Wagamama's for keeping it consistent. It had been a long time.
