Inspector Neck
To everyone who came last night thank you, it was a good one. We enjoyed this guys DJ debut...
Inspector Neck was on the warpath, good Pizzer appearance, I enjoyed the MIA premiere, playing some songs with my scratchy CD's, Treecreeper's set and the ensuing dancefloor craze. Good times! Have a good look around Jackson's T5 photos from the night

The Nolan
John Nolan's film is out and I found out about it over at the
Future Shorts site. Remember I told you about the robot he built...
The Lavelle track he built it for sees Futura's iconic doodle come to life. You can watch it here...
Yes John! Hope you and Ben are having a good time out there in better weather. Be sure to check out unseen Jendog footage courtesy of Ben Dominguez over at PWBC
Here Two notably glaring omissions from the Xmas party flyer will be pleased to know they have their own space. Jake's Alley exclusive alternative invite...

We be triple R rated...
...but we form a square. Readers with a decent grasp of what the Bootcamp click did before the R nd B hit will recognise that as being from the excellent Heltah Skeltah Nocturnal album. It's relevance is only due to the lyric and in particular the square. This is a thankyou to this guy...
Cubic has been a huge help these past few weeks. He has been the giver of gifts, the creator of a revolutionary three tier beanie rack and has mucked in on numerous occasions when the battle against the boxes looked like the cardboard enemy had the upper hand. Cheers Cubic it's appreciated, see you at the Xmas knees up.

Sleepy Sun
We went and saw these guys play last night at the Borderline
They were really good, I spent most of the show with my eyes closed. Partly because their music lends itself to doing just that but also because what last time was vital to their presence on stage is now missing. Rachel Fannan who flitted around the stage and made mirth with the crowd last time I saw them has now left the band. Here's what she's up to now...
I'd recommend seeing them play, they have all the power still but lack some of the tenderness. We all had a good time and I'm sure you're glad. Fresh off the press is the latest issue of
Grey ...
Come in and pick one up. I'm pleased to have penned some words about Mr Toby Shuall in there. I'll let you know when it's up online too. Also make sure to check out the
Hold Tight blog on the regs, with all manner of contributors it looks to have some varied content.

Lot on
It's been a hectic week. Alongside some very busy days in Slam I spent a day and an evening this week getting in and getting out this new Jasmin Vardimon production...
One main feature was a huge watchtower representing a concentration camp which took less time taking down than putting up. It's not only myself that's been busy.
Karim has made a sick edit which I hope you just clicked and checked out. So has this guy...
His has a slightly different theme...
It had me laughing out loud. Also batch number one of a new product to hit the street is currently in production. You won't need to scuttle around the Baltimore corners for this though. Slam City Skates will be the proud stockists of Neil Smith's new line in wax...
My guess is that Captain's wax will be facilitating ledgicalism around the streets of London within a week!

Rum Coke
After a morning's work and a Mile End wallride session, I got a guided tour of Stu Bentley's neighbourhood and a sneak peek of Tom's new yard. I'm pretty sure the door is meant for a human of my build and not his...
That evening we got to talking about boards we remembered etc as is standard. Tom has fond memories of a Bill Pepper and how his skateboarding inspired him to learn pop shuvits which got me to thinking... Bill Pepper was sick...
He'd be backing Tom's new front door too.

Tail Of The Unexpected
Sorry for the cheap tabloid headline, I should be pun-ished, seriously though I enjoy them. Yesterday brought around a family dinner I was aware of but with a special guest. My Uncle and Aunt were round at my parents for dinner with my grandmother, it was great to see all of them and to meet this guy...
Toby is my Aunt's Jack Russell. He is a friendly little fellow. Before they left she readied him for the cold...
hooded him up before he got on the ped...
then disappeared into the night on a hunt for rockers

I've said it before but...
this is the best series out right now...
Scorcese's vison is incredible. For those of you still unconvinced and who haven't off and investigated for yourself already just take a look at how good the opening sequence looks alone...
I told you Omar from the Wire is in it already, guess who else just cropped up?...
It is however definitely Buscemi's tour as "Nucky" Thompson and not Shooter's.

Collabo
Looking back through the last week's posts I realised that during the madness of deliveries I haven't plugged a great collaboration we did with Carhartt and Tweakerzine. Rob Mathieson's shirt is in store. The front print looks like this...
and the back print like this...
Read about the project/the other stores involved etc
here and read an interview I did with Rob about the project
here End of plug. I should have done that ages ago instead of talking about Doritos, how unprofessional. Come in and pick up a shirt

Making up for it
Computer access or lack of it has been the cause of any blog inactivity of late so here is a bountiful one, things to look at, listen to and watch. My father and I went to this show tonight...
Caitlin Rose has a beautiful voice, I've told you about her before. Here's my image of the evening...
Familiar with her own work and having seen her before made my highlight of the evening an easy choice. It was her cover of this...
Thank you for a good evening dad, glad you didn't get lost on the way home. Many people have been talking about the new P-Rod -me myself and I part, it really is phenomenal, unfathomable. I watched it, watched it again to work out the ins and outs of what happened and sat back. You should search it out and do the same. Pizzer then drew my attention to this...

He's only gone and done it
Stockwell goodness for you today on a double dip. Brixton Beach holy grail territory is the leap over the wall. Today the beast was conquered by Brady, Rory, Joey and Charlie. Traffic both human and vehicular increased throughout. I captured Charlie's take down...
When I got home Hogsy showed me the edit he'd finished up which appears on
CoolSkullStuff It features Hjalte Halberg, Sam Ashley, Rob "superman" Mathieson, Patrick, Jamie Aaaarrrgggh, Charlie and myself and is filmed predominantly at Stockwell with a bonus impromtu sermon on Endell street. You can watch it here...
The journey home inspired a glove purchase and I predict they'll be a vital piece of kit during my next visit

A Partridge Among The Pigeons
Everyone seemed to have a Steve Coogan sighting story, now I do too. We saw him in Soho. This is as close as I'll get to being pictured with him I reckon, the combo of my "I'm your biggest fan Alan" right hand and Rum cokes renegade flash startling him meant he wasn't our biggest fans...
I'm pretty sure he's my best friend

It's been in a little while now...
The latest Krooked release is a gem. Feverishly tearing a video out of it's wrapping and watching it instantly is sadly a thing of the past. I caught bits of it, the instant gratification we used to enjoy became a thing of the past the day the old upstairs tele died because we put on the football. You need this...
It succeeds in making skateboarding look fun. I took a 3d viewing in with Jackson last night, whilst it isn't Avatar, certain moments will have you wowing. My opinion is the same as Mark's that I prefer many of the camera angles in the 2d edit so it's good you have both, one favouring the 3d and one the skating it seems. While eating my lunch out the back I sadly overheard a group of kids critiquing it for the first time the other day. Average age twelve I'd say. One uttered the gutteral "look at me i'm a wildman" laugh of the streets and then said "Rah blud that is jokes, look at the old man, the old man is skating, what's he doing?" His friend brought him down to earth as a consumer by saying "You're dumb, that man gets bare free Adidas and Krooked" What are we up against? It's a rarity to say in this day and age but a statement that shows Krooked doing it ever so right once again-this video will make you want to go and skate! Buy it

internet fail
This weak post is written on my telephone. My last two days on planet earth have been internet free. Terrible connection at work for some reason and it hasn't been working at home. I want to tell you all about the carhartt x tweaker x slam city skates x rob mathieson shirt but I can't. I'd like to tell you about my dan inspired resolve to watch six star wars films in a row but I can't. Promise I'll be back soon.

VHS revival
Conrad was having a cleanse and dropped us in some video gold which had hit the cutting room floor...
absolute classic. 411 issue 29 had our very own US transplant's wheels of fortune...
This one used to get rinsed...
It was the advent of these videos that launched many careers and introduced us to a cast of now well known and loved lunatics. Last night was the UK premiere of this...
After that amazing Spurs win Seth got myself, Charlie and Toddy wristbands into the afterparty zone. Cheers Seth...
All good photo's property of Seth, any ghetto ones my very own. This was the kind of scene in there...
Everyone had a fine old time...
Un-limited free booze, those amazing little mini cheeseburgers, it was ticking all the boxes. Stuff was going on everywhere...
Gin and tonics were going on everywhere...
The boys...
Toddy got into the spirit of things very quickly...
Cheers for a whirlwind night and a bleary eyed Wednesday morning .
